Kevin Zane Rice, age 64, of Matthews, NC, died Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at Matthews Medical Center in Matthews, NC. He was born September 27, 1962, in Amherst, OH, a son of the late Artie Rice and is survived by his mother Helen June “Peg” Lee Rice Moore and stepfather Elmer Moore, both of Rock Cave. He is also survived by his brother David Blaine Rice and wife Mindy of Buckhannon; niece Kristin Rice and nephew Daniel Rice; one uncle Johnnie Lee of Rock Cave; special cousins: Katrina Myers, Delora Brown and several other cousins. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Chasity Denard for her care and friendship.
Kevin was a carpenter/electrician. His favorite past time was having cookouts with family and friends.
The family will receive friends at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 12 – 1:00 pm, the funeral hour, with pastor Terry Gower officiating. Interment will follow in the Lee Cemetery.
